Terms of Use (Cannabis Compass Portal)

1. Purpose and Scope

The Cannabis Compass Portal is an educational tool developed by Black Women in Biotechnology (BWIB) to support trauma-responsive cannabinoid literacy. It is designed to help users explore cannabis strain profiles, delivery formats, and dosing logic based on publicly available data and translational neuroscience.

2. Limitations

  • This portal does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
  • It is not a substitute for consultation with a licensed healthcare provider.
  • Recommendations are based on scientific literature, user input, and translational frameworks—not clinical trials.
  • The portal does not guarantee therapeutic outcomes or product efficacy.

3. User Responsibilities

  • Users must be 18 years or older to access and use the portal.
  • Users are responsible for verifying any cannabis use with a licensed clinician.
  • Pediatric and adolescent use of cannabis should be approached with caution and professional guidance.
  • BWIB is not liable for misuse, misinterpretation, or adverse outcomes resulting from portal use.

4. Intellectual Property

All content, frameworks, and logic systems within the portal are the intellectual property of BWIB and The Mercer Institute for Brain and Behavioral Health. Unauthorized reproduction or commercial use is prohibited.

5. Data and Privacy

The portal does not collect or store personal health data. Any input provided is used solely for educational matching logic and is not retained or shared.

For Clinicians

The Cannabis Compass Portal is designed to support, not replace, clinical decision-making. It offers:

  • Strain-to-profile matching logic based on trauma-encoded biological pathways
  • Dosing guidelines adjusted for weight, format, and cannabinoid sensitivity
  • Terpene relevance mapping for trauma-related symptom clusters
  • Educational overlays to support patient conversations and intake protocols

This tool is intended to complement clinical expertise by providing a translational framework grounded in neuroscience, trauma science, and cannabinoid pharmacology. It can be used to:

  • Enhance intake forms and prescribing conversations
  • Support dispensary staff training and patient education
  • Inform curriculum development in trauma-responsive care and cannabinoid therapeutics.

Clinicians are encouraged to use the portal as a starting point, not a directive. All treatment decisions should be made in accordance with professional standards, patient history, and applicable laws.
